2009 WORKIN'  MAN'S BASS TOURNAMENT

RULES & REGULATIONS

SAFETY:  All boats must have U.S.C.G. approved equipment as required by law.  Approved life jackets must be worn at all times the boat is under power except when using the electric trolling motor.

PARTICIPATION:  The tournament is open to all persons that properly enroll and pay their fees.  Any person under eighteen years of age must have written parental / guardian consent before being allowed to participate.

BOAT & MOTOR: Boats must be a minimum of 14 feet in length.  Boats entered must have fully operational aerated live wells and be equipped with a kill switch that must be used during the tournament.  No canoes or airboats allowed.

TACKLE: Artificial lures by use of cast and retrieve method only (no trolling allowed).  No live or prepared baits are permitted, other than pork strips, rind, etc.  Only one casting, spin casting or flipping rod and reel may be used at any one time per person.  Other rods as specified may be in the boat ready for use. 

PROTESTS:  All protests must be registered with the tournament director at the time of weigh in.  The tournament director will appoint a 3-man committee composed of tournament officials to decide the protest. All decisions by the tournament committee/director will be final.

SCORING & PENALTIES: Scoring is determined by total weight in pounds and ounces.  Only large mouth bass are accepted.  Five (5) fish limit per boat of which only one fish may be over 22 inches in length per fisherman.  Any illegal fish brought to the scales will be culled and a (1) pound penalty will be incurred per illegal fish.  Measuring will be accomplished by the Golden Rule (flat board).  Any boat late for weigh in will be penalized (1) pound per minute and will be disqualified if more than ten (10) minutes late.  A (4) ounce penalty will be incurred for each dead fish brought to the scales.This also applies to Big Bass awards consideration.  The Tournament Committee may disqualify any questionable fish.

NO COURTESY MEASUREMENTS ALLOWED.

POINT SYSTEM: The registered boater will receive all points.  The 1st place boat will be awarded (20) points, 2nd place (19) points, 3rd place (18) points, and so forth.  All entries will receive (1) point if weigh-in slip is turned in even if no fish are caught.  Each entry that weighs in a legal bass will receive a minimum of (2) points.  Big fish will receive (1) bonus point.  The boater may fish alone if full entry fee is paid. In case of a tie, the prize money will be added together and divided by the number of boats tied. If there is a tie for 1st and 2nd place both boats will receive the (20) points. This would be 1st and 2nd place and the next boat would receive (18) points for 3rd place and so forth.

CHECK IN: All boats must check in at the designated check in point or call and leave a message on one of the officials cell phone numbers on the back of the weigh-in slip. Any boat not checked in will not receive any points for participation. This is to ensure the safety of all participants.

SUBSTITUTES: The registered boater and registered non-boater are a team. All points incurred must go to the registered boater and can not be transferred. Either team member may use a substitute at any time but not at the same time. All points earned will go to the registered boater of the team being represented. The registered non-boater may be changed at anytime during the year except for the last (3) weeks of the season. The registered boater and registered non-boater of a team during the last (3) weeks of the season finishing in the top twenty in the point standings and having participated in a minimum of 50% of the TNT tournaments will be eligible to participate in the classic (no substitutes will be allowed to participate in the classic).

LIMIT REGULATIONS: If exemption permits are issued each boat is allowed (5) bass 12 minimum length with no maximum length restrictions. If exemption permits are not issued each boat is allowed (5) bass 14 minimum and only one bass 22 or longer. 

SPORTSMANSHIP: All contestants are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, and conservation. Intoxication may be cause for automatic disqualification.

CLASSIC: The (20) boats that finish the season with the highest point standings and having participated in a minimum of 50% of the TNT Tournaments will be eligible to participate in the classic. In case of a tie for 20th place in the point standings all the teams involved in the tie will be qualified to participate. There may also be one wild card to qualify for the classic. If there is a field of one or more boats that participated in all the tournaments fished but did not place in the top 20 standings there will be a wild card draw. All boats that fall in this category will have their boat number entered in a drawing for the wild card. The winner of the draw will also be eligible to participate in the classic. If any eligible team cannot participate then there will be fewer entries in the classic. No additional team will be eligible to participate due to another teams non-participation. Any team that qualified for the classic may fish with only one participate from the registered team if their partner is not available, however no substitute may be allowed in the classic.

TAXES:  Any and all income tax implications are the sole responsibility of the prize payout recipients.

LIE DETECTOR TESTING: Participants of this tournament may be subject to lie detector testing.

PERMITTED FISHING WATERS:: Contestants may only fish waters accessible by boat from Swimming Pen Creek (Whiteys Fish Camp Launch Site).

 NOTICE

When blasting off at the start of the tournament all boats must leave Whiteys Dock in a single file formation until you have cleared the no wake zone. Any boat that launches out of order will have five pounds subtracted from their total weight and may be disqualified at the discretion of the tournament director.

 

DO NOT PASS THE BOAT IN FRONT OF YOU UNTIL THAT BOAT IS ON PLANE

Any team that violates any of the tournament rules may be subject to be disqualified by the tournament committee with no refund of entry fees
