                                  NORTH FLORIDA BASS MASTERS
                              TOURNAMENT RULES & REGULATIONS


BOAT & MOTOR: Boats must be a minimum of 14 feet in length. Fully operational aerated live wells are required.

ENTRY FEES: All participants will pay a $20.00 entry fee. Any person that signs up to fish a tournament and fails to show without notifying the tournament director will be held responsible for the $20.00 entry fee owed to The NFBM.

No Winners: In the case of a club tournament with no legal bass caught to qualify for place money, the club will retain that place money in the club treasure. Example; if only one person catches a legal bass they would receive first place and big fish money only. Second and third place money would go to the club. If there are no legal bass caught at all in a club tournament the club retains all the prize money from that tournament including the big fish pot.

PARTICIPATION: The tournament is open to all members and guest. All guests must fish with a member in good standing. Anyone under 18 years of age must have written parental consent before participating.

PROTESTS: All protests must be registered with the tournament Chairman at the time of weigh in. All decisions by the tournament chairman will be final.

TACKLE: Artificial lures by use of cast and retrieve method only, no trolling allowed. Only one casting, spin casting or flipping rod and reel may be used at any one time. Other rods as specified may be in the boat ready for use. No rod longer than 8 feet including the handle is permitted. No live or prepared baits are permitted, other than pork strips, rind, etc.

SAFETY: All boats must have U.S.C.G. approved equipment as required by law.
Approved life jackets must be worn at all times the boat is on plane

SCORING & PENALTIES: Scoring is determined by total weight in pounds and
ounces. A Five (5) fish limit of large mouth bass 14 inches or longer, only one fish may be over 22 inches in length.  Any fish brought to the scales less than fourteen (14) inches in length will be culled along with their largest fish.  Measuring will be accomplished by the Golden Rule (flat board). Any participant late for weigh in will be penalized (1) pound per minute and will be disqualified if more than (10) minutes late. A (4) ounce penalty will be incurred for each dead fish brought to the scales. Each participant will be allowed one courtesy measurement without penalty if requested before weighing fish.

Spoiled Fish:   Each participant is responsible for taking care of his fish and should make every attempt to keep them alive.  If a fish dies it should be placed on ice to prevent spoiling.  Fish that are determined Spoiled by the tournament chairman will not be weighed.
