BY-LAWS AND RULES OF THE NORTH FLORIDA BASS MASTERS OF ORANGE PARK, FLORIDA

March 2007

 

1.                  The club name shall be North Florida Bass Masters of Orange Park, Florida

 

2.                  The club purpose shall be to promote bass fishing and good sportsmanship.

 

3.                  The requirements for membership shall be:

a.                  To attend a regular meeting prior to seeking membership.

b.                  The candidate must fish at least (1) regular club tournament with an active member and must beat at least 50% of the members participating.

c.                  To be recommended by an active member at a regular monthly meeting.

d.                  Be approved by a vote of at least 90% of the club members present at the meeting.

 

4.                  Membership dues shall be $20.00 for a new member when voted in the club. All active members dues of $20.00 are due at the January meeting but not later than at the April meeting.

 

5.                  Officers and their duties shall be:

a.                  President:  Preside at meetings and direct all official business. Appoint committee members and direct committee functions

b.                  Vice President: Assist the President and preside in his absence. Also serves as the Membership Chairman.

c.                  Secretary / Treasure: Maintains accurate minutes of all meetings and keep accurate financial records and reports at each meeting. The money shall be maintained in a bank account of his choosing for the North Florida Bass Masters.

d.         Tournament Chairman: Shall enforce existing tournament rules. To change existing tournament rules the Tournament Chairman must present the changes to the membership with a majority vote. The tournament chairman will consult with a committee of his choosing to establish a tentative annual schedule. Tournament dates, times and locations may be changed by the club officers as a group (President, Vice-President, Secretary / Treasurer and Tournament Chairman) if this group has just reason and provide a minimum of 7 day notice to the membership.

 

6.                  The election of officers will be held annually. Election is to be by simple majority of the members present. Each office will be elected separately and in the order of (1) President, (2) Vice President, (3) Secretary / Treasurer and (4) Tournament Chairman.

 

7.                  At the December meeting the President will appoint a (3) member nominating committee to select a slate of candidates for the elected offices. These candidates will be announced at the January meeting. Additional candidates may be nominated from the floor prior to the election that will be held at the February meeting.

 

8.                  The term of office shall be from March 1 through the end of February.

 

9.                  Any officer may be removed by a 2/3 vote of the members present at a regular club meeting.

 

10.             Mid-term officer vacancies shall be filled by floor nominations and elected for the remainder of the term at a regular club meeting.

 

11.             Qualifications for officers are:

a.                  Must have been an active member for minimum of (6) months.

b.                  Attend at least 75% of club functions.

 

12.             Members will be removed from club membership if:

a.                  Failure to pay dues by the April meeting.

b.                  90% vote of members present at regular meeting after open discussion.

c.                  Failure to attend at least 50% of club functions in a (12) month period.

d.                  Members may become inactive by requesting to do so with a good cause and being approved by a 90% vote of members present at a regular meeting. Inactive members must pay dues while inactive to retain member status.

 

13.             Regular monthly meetings will be on the first Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM.

 

14.             The angler of the year as determined by point standing shall receive $300.00 from the club. In case of a tie the tiebreaker will be determined by the angler with the most club tournament wins for the year.

 

15.             Any person owing a financial debt to the club will have that amount garnished from any award paid to them by the North Florida Bass Masters. Any member owing a financial debt to the club without prior arrangements being made with one of the officers of the club or tournament chairman will not be considered in good standing and will not earn any points during the period of the debt.

 

16.             In case of a club tournament with no legal bass caught to qualify for any one of the place money categories, the club will retain that place money in the club treasure. If there are no legal bass caught at all in a club tournament the club retains all the prize money from that tournament including the big fish pot. If no one draws the anglers name for big fish the big fish pot will be retained by the club treasure
